I hope all you Thanksgiving revelers enjoyed your turkey, mashed potatoes, and stuffing yesterday, and I hope that all my fellow Jews were able to partake in some brisket, latkes and bagels. I, being the lucky girl I am, started my morning out with bagels, lox, cream cheese, latkes, blintzes and chocolate gelt and then rounded out the day with turkey, brisket, and all the Thanksgiving fixins’. Let’s just say that I’m glad I took today off because today is a day for elastic waist pants. Fortunately, my Black Friday plans consist of lounging around the house in my sweatpants, relaxing and writing this blog post.
As it’s the season of giving AND the first time in 70-something-thousand years that Thanksgiving and Hanukkah fall on the same week, I think it’s high time for my first blog giveaway. That’s right. I’m offering up the first ever Thanksgivukkah present!
Here’s the deal. Scott Mowbray, Editor of Cooking Light, is very passionate about personal photography and just published an awesome book called The Unforgettable Photograph: 228 Ideas, Tips & Secrets for Taking The Best Picture of Your Life. It’s an almost completely non-technical book that shows easy ways to take better pictures of anything. He based it on the great work of George Lange, a top pro photographer who devotes much of his everyday life to shooting pictures of friends and family.
I have a copy of the book, and I think it’s going to be incredibly useful in helping me take my photography to the next level. And it couldn’t be more timely since ’tis the season when folks are taking a lot of pictures with iPhones and point-and-shoots of loved ones and meals.
Scott very generously sent me an extra book to give to one of my readers (thanks Scott!). So, if you’re interested in receiving this fabulous book, enter your information in the giveaway entry form below. You have two days to enter – the giveaway ends at midnight on December 1.
Happy Thanksgivukkah from HRx!
